Services to Business - Yorkshire Leadership Conference
The Yorkshire Leadership Conference is a large event for the Services for Business department of Wakefield College.
I was asked to put together 3 concepts for the ‘People and the Planet’ event, which would be applied to all of the print work for the conference.
Hand and Planet concept
Members of staff chose several stock images, so I prepared them for print and then applied them to the concepts. I used colours from the picture of the planet for the main typography, to tie the image and text together.

I made the bottom section of the leaflet white so that the supplied sponsor logos stood out from the background.
Starburst concept
Using another one of the images supplied, I created a dramatic, high contrast look with the starburst being in the centre of the flyer for maximum impact.

Light blue and white text was chosen to stand out from the background, and complement the colours used in the earth picture.
Vector Hand concept
For my 3rd concept, I took a different creative route. A vector logo for the conference would be easier to apply across the vast range of documents, and I wanted to marry together the hand and planet used in the other concepts.
Yorkshire Leadership Conference vector hand concept
I picked a vibrant shade of light green, with a deep blue for the water areas of the planet. Large bold shapes ensured that the logo was energetic and fresh, and was linked into the typography using the same shade of blue as the water.
