About
The Goodmans Module Ninety is amplifier and radio receiver in one unit. This piece of equipment has inputs for a turntable and for tape decks, as well as an aerial for receiving radio waves. The unit also has a set of filters which can cover up flaws in vinyl records.
How it works
The receiver uses a set of sliders for the volume and tone controls, as well as for the treble and bass selectors. A set of plastic push buttons can be used to select the inputs, and there is a small dial for changing the tuning of the radio. This unit also came with a circuit diagram, which was common before electrical equipment started to contain integrated circuits. This unit itself uses six integrated circuit chips, indicated as triangles on the circuit diagram.
Where is it now?
The amplifier is currently unused and stored in the loft of the house. Despite being in full working order, the unit it very large, and the sound quality is not particularly good. It was originally used in with the Goodmans Achromat 400 speakers.
