About
This Casio VL-Tone keyboard combines both a musical instrument and a calculator in one, combining two pieces of equipment that Casio is renowned for making. The device has a selection of keyboard buttons which double up as numbers and functions when in calculator mode.
How it works
The device uses a series of sliders to select the various modes available. The device also has a recording facility where sequences of key presses can be recorded and played back, as well backing tracks to play along to. The device also has an AC power input, and a mono 3.5mm jack amplifier output.
Where is it now?
The keyboard is infrequently used for recording, and is usually found packed away in its small canvas case. The mono output means that it must be connected using a mono jack to an amplifier so that It can be heard in both speakers, as opposed to just one.
